Lena and Jossi’s wedding came to us through one of Antonis’ Lehigh University roommates and closest friends, Chris. Lena and Chris lived in the same neighborhood as young kids, but Chris’ family moved to Long Island a few years later. The two reconnected in high school when Lena’s parents, coincidentally, moved their family into the same district. When Lena and Jossi announced their engagement, she asked Chris to shoot the big day. He invited us to help out and Antonis spent the day with Chris and the happy couple.
The day started at Lena’s house (after the traditional Starbucks stop to get our energy up for the day) where she got into her gorgeous gown.
A beautiful veil and one of the most colorful bouquets (and wedding days) we’ve ever seen!
Presenting: Lena! Look at our beautiful bride!
After Lena was ready we all headed over to Westbury Manor for a first-look. I know we’ve said it a million times, but we love when couples choose to do this. It allows the couple more time with their friends and families after the ceremony and we always get some great emotion with these shots.
Love the colors in this shot!
Then it was time to get these two married!
The service was incredibly moving and very non-traditional, mixing classic Jewish elements (though the Rabbi played and sang as well) and some typical Quaker elements.
Lena and Jossi signed a Ketubah as is traditional in Judaism, though it was unusual in that it had space for every one of their guests to sign. What a great, personal touch!
Westbury Manor is an incredible venue. The hall, the staff, the amenities, everything was absolutely top-notch.
Lena and Jossi opted for cupcakes rather than a traditional cake. Each one was homemade by her friend the night before the wedding! You can’t have a Jewish wedding without challah!
Lena danced with her father and Jossi didn’t want to be left out. He grabbed his dad and joined them for one of the funnier moments we’ve seen!
After dinner it was time to hit the floor! The MC and DJ were provided by After Hours Entertainment and they kept everyone on the floor all night long!
Lena and Jossi, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for letting us share this day with you. We are so happy Chris connected us and we are so proud to have been able to document your big day. Congratulations again, and we wish you nothing but the absolute best!
