“It’s nice to see Karen in something other than a sweatshirt.”  This sentiment was expressed during the saying of Grace before dinner, and its truth was repeated to us several times during the course of our day with Karen and Dylan.  It’s hard to imagine either of these two as anything else as the awesome people we met and photographed on a beautiful August day.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful, the reception was energetic, and Karen and Dylan were so comfortable with us that our job has never been easier than it was with them.  Their families were incredibly welcoming and receptive to our creative oddities.

Now, without further ado, we present Karen and Dylan Barrett!  First, the invitation, rings, and other details.

Karen’s dress waiting patiently while she gets hair and makeup done.

Time to put on the dress.  The picture of the right is from one of the most heartwarming moments we’ve ever witnessed.  Karen saw herself in the mirror with the veil on and was speechless.  Just look at the expression on her face!

Meanwhile, with the guys…here’s Dylan!

The gorgeous St. Joseph’s church provided a great location for the ceremony.

Again, look at the emotion on Karen’s face as she makes her way down the aisle.

Officially husband and wife!

Then, it was off to the Aqua Turf in Plantsville.  What a spectacular location!  It was the perfect backdrop for an intimate session with the couple and their wedding party.

The details and personal touches at the reception were great, too.

Entrance and first dance!  The first time as Mr. and Mrs. Barrett!

The knife for the cake-cutting didn’t quite make it through.  It broke right at the hilt as soon as it touched the cake.  That wasn’t going to stop them, though!

Then it was time to dance!

Karen and Dylan, we want to congratulate you two from the bottom of our hearts and thank you again for giving us the honor of documenting your big day.  It was, truly, a pleasure to witness your love and the sense of togetherness both of your families exude.  You two are a beautiful, caring, fun couple and we couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating bride and groom.
